Mark 2:1-12

Jesus returns to Capernaum where we see the faith of 5 men. Four lower a paralytic through a hole in a roof and Jesus performs an unseen miracle (forgiveness). To confirm the unseen miracle, Jesus performs a visible miracle, by healing the man physically.

Mark 2:13-17

Jesus calls Levi the tax collector to be His follower. How can Jesus call such a person and even sit and eat with him and other sinful people?  Perhaps if we are truly following Jesus, we will be with sinners since that's where Jesus goes. 

Mark 2:18-22

Why is Jesus eating with sinners and tax collectors on a day that is designated as a day of ritualistic fasting? Rituals and relationship with Jesus don't go together. Like new fermenting wine in an old rigid wineskin, putting them together ruins them both.
